How do I love the Wynter Olympics, let me count the ways….
So, I love winter, it’s my favorite season, and I love the olympics – so put the two together and you have a match made in heaven for me!
I have always loved the figure skating best, with my all time favorite skaters being Kurt Browning and Elivs Stojko, Torville and Dean, as well as Karyn and Rob Garossino. I’m probably dating myself here! Then along came the snowboarding and wow, I love that too. It’s amazing to watch their gravity defying stunts. Not that I don’t enjoy all the rest of it, but those are my favorites.
Any of the sports where there is snow and high speeds are great fun to watch – the skeleton, bobsled, etc. Sure, let’s hurtle down an icy path head first as fast as we can – who was the first person who thought that was a great idea? I can just hear it now – hey, ya’ll watch this! And then of course the friends who watched had to try and outdo and tada a crazy sport is born!
I’ve got lots of fond memories from watching the Winter Olympics. The Battle of the Brians in figure skating. Torville and Dean’s stunning Bolero. Eddie the Eagle ski jumping. The Jamaican bobsled team, just to name a few. And I’m looking forward to watching and adding new memories again this year. Let’s hope the athletes all stay healthy and have a great games.
X-Factor
Game designer Henry Delloit loves his life, his mountain community, his isolated dream home, and the snow. He also loves that the X-treme Games blow into the area for a month every year, bringing with them hundreds of athletes.
Ecco Rasmussen loves boarding. He knows he’ll never make it to the big time, but as long as he can get on his board and go, he doesn’t care. If only his manager, Blake Dobbs, would cut Ecco a break. The man’s possessive and mean, and believes he owns Ecco.
When Henry and Ecco meet at the Branchberry Games, it’s lust at first sight. An injury on Ecco’s qualifying run offers an opportunity to spend quality time together at Henry’s home, away from the crowds and out from under Blake’s thumb.
At this rate, lust might turn into love, but not if they can’t keep their romance hidden from Blake.

I hate winter but if I had to pick an activity to do it would be going to Gatlinburg, Tennessee to look at all the light.
Sean Michael says
The lights do look gorgeous in the winter!

Tubing. Then cuddling in front of a fire with a hot (spiked) drink in hand.

I am not a winter person. I moved to Florida from Ohio after I retired to get away from the cold. I will say, though, when I was a kid I loved to go sledding.
Sean Michael says
I used to love sledding too – it’s hard on the bones though as you get older and I haven’t been in quite a while!

Reading
Sean Michael says
Always a good activity no matter the time of year or weather.
Manon says
A walk outside if it is cold, especially if the ground has frost and each step crunches.
As long as I can go back inside with lots of blankets, a fire and hot chocolate.
Sean Michael says
I love the sound of snow crunching underfoot – that’s the sound of winter to me. That and the hush that comes when the huge flakes fall.
Marion says
Walking through the woods with snow everywhere. The air is crisp and cold. The white snow dresses up the trees. Love it.
Sean Michael says
I totally agree!
