This was supposed to be a fluffy romance set in and around the world of horse racing. It turned into something else entirely. It is the first story I've written that took on such a life of its own. It was great fun to write and I ventured into areas that I've never gone into before. It is also the first entirely new book I'd written in four years, which was more than a little scary. – SA Meade
