I’m joining with a group of author friends celebrating Family and Family Found. I love writing about families, and you can read some of the strongest families in my Montana, Single Dads, and Texas series.
What they all have in common is not just the family by birth, but that there are strong family found ideas in all of them also. Focusing on the best friend, or the comrade in arms who would die for you, or the people in the same town who are close to the hero.
In the Texas series there is a toxic family that Riley grew up in, think a family with money and no scruples, stealing and lying to get what they want. Riley is no different–he blackmails Jack into marriage and it’s only when he learns to love Jack that he finds a new family who treat him as one of their own. The series is nine books long, plus three in the spin off Legacy series, and throughout there is a strong feeling of not just family, but found family as more couples and friends find love.
