Rainbow Gold Reviews 4.5/5 “… Romance at it’s best …”
You will fall in love with the characters and the story will warm your heart, not rip it apart. The journey of these two and their families finding their way together is beautiful. There are many serious challenges in their way, but they overcome them together. For me the characters and their struggles and dreams felt realistic, but the author was able to give them the perfect place and perfect people to understand, heal and complete them. The perfect marriage between realism and fantasy. Romance at its best.
Jewel Book Love 4/5 “…Sweet and enjoyable, a good start in a promising series. …”
I loved the description of the Ranch and the Montana’s landscape, I could really picture the surrounding.
Due to the length of the book all the characters have been developed only to a certain extent, but in a satisfying way nonetheless. The interaction between them is engaging. The main focus is on Jay and Nate relationship and the other family’s members complete the whole story, and some plot lines are left open for future books instalments.
A Bibliophile Anonymous Book Reviews 4/5 “… This book is like wine: it gets better with time….”
I liked Jay’s family, his sister Ashley and her kids, and I loved how they integrated to life at the ranch so easily and got along with Nate’s brothers, Gabe and Luke.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I loved how every relationship is covered, secondary characters are fleshed out, and none of the situation is confusing (unless it is intentional!).
Bookaholics Not-So-Anonymous 5/5 “…This book wasn’t just about the love story between Nate and Jay; it was also about family…”
If you’re looking for a well-written romance with a quietly intense but sweet cowboy and a protective and caring city slicker wary of horses, I recommend you check out Crooked Tree Ranch by RJ Scott.
Southern Babes Book Blog 5/5 “…A great start to another amazing series….”
Nate never in his wildest dreams expected to have feeling for Jay. He tried to fight it, but sometimes you just cant keep fighting what you really need.
This is a great sweet story. An i cant wait to see what happens with the rest of the family at Crooked Tree Ranch!
As is typical with RJ Scott’s writing, the characters are very complex and very real. Readers won’t realize this off the bat because their complexity is slowly revealed.
R.J.Scott has given us such a strong storyline with some amazing characters and the writing was amazing. This will grab you and pull you in and keeps you there from start to finish and will leave you wanting more.
I really loved Nate and Jay, and their journey. It was a very well developed story, with both men learning from each other. This was one of those reads where I just didn’t want it to end, I loved them!
Padme’s Library 5/5 “…boy do they have that push and pull chemistry that had me hooked from beginning to end…”
Hellmouth Book Blog Reviews 4/5 “…. This was a short but highly sexy read…”
A story of a city boy meets a cowboy was definitely high on my read list. This was a short but highly sexy read, that had many twists I found interesting and the characters Jay and Nate are very likable and I enjoyed both of them.
If you like market managers, creative men, rugged cowboys, new series, Montana, cute kids, sweet romance and some hot man-sex, this is for you
I loved this story, it had just the right amount of everything to keep me turning the pages and having me scouring the internet for hints about future books.
I loved the characters, both main and supporting. I don’t think I could pick a favorite, it would be one massive tie.
I can only hope that we get to revisit them as this series develops. I am definitely looking forward to more in this series.
All of the supporting characters were also very well written and while you got a better glimpse at some of them, others were left more open ended which I am excited to see more of in the books to come!
Even more enjoyable is watching the love between Nate and Jay grow as they work together to help Crooked Tree Ranch prosper.
This was a sweet, cowboy love story and a nice light, romantic read.
You’ll fall in love with the Todd brothers. They bicker like siblings do, but you can feel the love of family. Family is a very important part of the ranch and it’s legacy.
I am usually a sucker for instant-love, but this book didn’t have that, this was a slow build up, well, slower than most books and it actually worked and fit the story and the characters.
I also liked that this was a slow burn romance, though I’m sure some people will think that a couple or so weeks is still too quick. They had to overcome their own first impressions of one another before becoming friends and then more.
I loved the slow build to everything, Nate and Jay don’t get along at first, but to watch their romance blossom to what it become is beautiful.
If you like family drama and a mystery hiding in the past, if “country” meeting “city” and the resulting fireworks are your thing, and if you’re looking for an entertaining read with great characters and a definite promise of more to come, then you will probably like this novel.
If Nate can be tamed who knows what will happen next.
