I have always wanted to go to Canada ever since I was little. Some of my family left the UK a couple of generations back (distant family) and settled in Canada and the idea of visiting the beautiful country was so exciting! We had the most amazing time – Vancouver – Vancouver Island – Vancouver – Train to Banff – Calgary – Toronto and managed to get in a hockey game watching the Leafs play Boston.
So many memories and so many photos!
What places to visit are on your bucket list?
Across the Pond
The greatest journey isn’t from England to the States, it’s the one that two men take on the way to find each other.
Sebastian Brown is on a mission to rescue the Arizona Raptors and a vow he made to a friend in college. Either that or he’s on vacation. He’s not entirely sure that he’s made up his mind yet. Either way, traveling from England, to the arid desert of Arizona isn’t exactly a picnic, particularly with the doubts and worries he takes with him. He’s turned even the worst of companies around, but faced with the challenge of improving the reputation of a hockey team that everyone seems to hate, he knows his work is cut out for him.
Focus is key, but that is easier said than done when Seb is sent into a tailspin by the intriguing Alejandro. Seb’s entire marketing plan hinges on making Alex a poster boy for equality and fair play. But with Alex’s utter dedication to the game, and his dark secretive eyes, the gorgeous Alex is stubborn, opinionated, doesn’t want any part of being the team focus, and worst of all, doesn't appear to like Seb at all. It takes everything that Seb has to keep his hands off of Alex, but things get out of hand and Seb’s life might never be the same again.
Alejandro Garcia has had to work hard to get where he’s at. Born to Mexican immigrants, his siblings and himself have never had it easy in this new country their parents dreamed of calling home. A native son of Arizona, Alex has always been the odd man out on the ice but he’s not going to let a stupid thing like his heritage get in the way of his dreams. He’s now a Raptor and he plans to put all that training and collegiate hockey experience to good use. Working hard comes naturally to him. It’s something his parents have instilled in him from the time he was a toddler. Being one of a handful of Latino hockey players makes him strive for success with even more determination. His first pro season has had some ups but a lot more downs, but Alex is one stubborn young man and failure is not an option.
As the Raptors struggle to rebuild not only their team but their core values, Alex finds himself drawn to one of the owner’s friends, a tall, lanky Brit with the face of an angel and an accent and attitude that bewitches and befuddles him. Sebastian is everything he thought he would never be attracted to but he can’t push the sexy, older, fun-loving man out of his thoughts. If ever there were a man he would not be able to take home to his parents - not that he can bring a man home since he is deeply closeted - it’s Sebastian, but desire knows no socioeconomic, age, or international borders. The heart wants what the heart wants and Alejandro’s wants Sebastian.

“A sexy and fast-paced romantic thriller.”
It takes a Navy SEAL's training to keep them alive, but when the mystery on the mountain is solved, will Viktor and Aiden's love story survive the fallout?
Viktor left small-town Vermont to become a Navy SEAL and had no intention of tying himself down or falling in love. A succession of men and women share his bed, passion and danger are his addictions, and he's the first of his team to run headlong into trouble. When his nephew witnesses a murder, Viktor returns home to protect his family and lands in the middle of an active case led by none other than the man he left behind. He can handle getting punched out by Aiden, but teaming up with the sheriff to find a killer is not on the cards. For Viktor, love is dangerous, makes a man vulnerable, and one mistake could get Aiden killed.
Aiden never expected to find lasting love with a decorated active SEAL, but he didn't anticipate Viktor would leave his bed never to return. Even two years later, disappointment simmers below the surface, and he never wants to see Viktor again. But, when seemingly unrelated deaths draw Viktor back home, Aiden has to find a way for them to work together despite their past. With Viktor's training and Aiden's local knowledge, they partner to work the case, but Aiden isn't just fighting the bad guys and mother nature; he's falling in love with a man who will surely leave him again.
What links the string of deaths in the Green Mountains? Can hate and distrust turn back to love? And if they make it down from the mountain alive, can Aiden persuade Viktor he has a reason to stop running?

I always wanted to go to Canada, to visit an online friend who lives in Saskatchewan, but when it comes to my bucket-list, the place I still need to visit is Japan. Oh, well, someday! 😛
I’ve always wanted to go to British Columbia. My sister got to go and loved it.
I’ve wanted to go to seceral places: Ireland, Scotland, New Zealand and Australia. I hope you have a wonderful time in Canada!
Alaska is at the top of my bucket list.
I live near Toronto but I would love to travel to all the other provinces. I would have love to come to your signing in Toronto but I am volunteering for our local women’s center that day. Hope you enjoy your trip to Canada. 🙂
Recently visited Montreal for the first time. Lovely city. Amazing time. I hope you have as great a time as I did!
Oh, and I’d love to see a sun rise in New Zealand.
Hi RJ, I hope you have a wonderful time in Canada. As a Canadian myself, my dream visits are Hawaii, Ireland & Itlay.
Enjoy your visit to Canada! The fall colours are nice here in northern Ontario. Visiting England is on my bucket list. My sister brought back some great photos from her visit there a few years ago!
I’d love to take a leisurely tour of Scotland. I’m keen to take the Jacobite Steam Train Tour and I want to see the historical sites, sightsee, and meet the residents.
I’ve travelled a lot over the years but I would love to see Japan.
I’ve been to Canada; it was beautiful! I’d love to see Ireland some day. 🙂
I hope you have the best trip!! I’d love to visit Ireland someday and Italy and ohhh so many other places….
My bucket list includes a tour of lighthouses in North America. I also would like to see Yellowstone and tour the New England coast. Maybe one day!
I want to take my daughter-in-law and only grandchildren to NYC at Christmas time!
I am so disappointed that I can’t make the Toronto signing☹️ I would have loved to meet you guys. I’m really hoping it can become a regular thing.
As for places to visit on my bucket list. I want to see the northern lights in all their glory. I used to think I’d have to go to Iceland to see the full effect but recently I’ve been following an artist in the Yukon who posts the most beautiful pictures that he takes there and the sky is beautiful, dancing with colours. So now the Yukon is on the top of my list.
Glad you are enjoying our beautiful country RJ. I’ve never been west of Ontario. The north and the east coasts are truly amazing though, if you make it back to this side of the pond again.
Safe travels to you and your family
My family would like to go to Alaska.
I have always wanted to visit Great Britain, and Switzerland.?
My bucket list of places: Japan, Italy, New York, Vermont, and Oregon.
I’d like to go to Lake Louise, near Banff.
The Maritimes have always appealed to me, and Montreal and Quebec City are part of the plan, too. I’m also very intrigued by Miquelon!
I would love to visit Scotland, especially the Highlands.
Alaska and lots of places in Europe!
Would love to visit Spain and Iceland someday!!
Alaska!
I’d love to go to Ireland some day!
I live in Canada and would love to visit Newfoundland. Have a great visit.
Scotland is definitely on my Bucket List! Big fan of any romance featuring hot guys in kilts:)
Most definitely Ireland.
Scotland and Ireland. It’s where my Grand-Dad’s family came from. It also looks so green and beautiful in pics.
Europe
Welcome to Canada! I took the train from Vancouver to Calgary once when I was a kid. I’d love to do it again! Paris is on my bucket list, but so is travelling across Canada, as I think it is for most Canadians. It’s not easy to see more than your corner of this very large country.
Always wanted to see the Grand Canyon in person … never seems to be any time for it.
I have always loved British history so I wish I could go to England and visit EVERYTHING!!
I’ve been fortunate to do two things on my bucket list already: Hawaii in 2016 and Alaska in 2018. One thing on my bucket list isn’t a place, it’s you, RJ, I want to meet you in person. I really wanted to come see you in Toronto but it just wasn’t in the stars this year.
My husband and I have been able to see lots of Canada. It is an amazing country! We’ve driven up to Montreal and to the Canadian side of the Niagara Falls. We’ve been able to drive up to Toronto, Banff, through British Columbia (which is probably our favorite place so far.) We’ve driven to Vancouver and next summer we’re planning on driving up to Victoria.
Places on my list…everywhere outside the continental US. I’d like to see a glacier before we lose them all.
I’ll bet Canada is beautiful with the changing colors of the leaves right now!
I really want to go to Alaska, probably via cruise, so I can see the pure blue glacial ice before it’s gone. I’d love to see wolf, bear, etc in their natural environment while I’m there, too. I’d love to see a convocation of eagles stalking on a fishing boat, looking for scraps!!
The PNW is another place I’d like to visit. No particular city, just the lush green of it.
Lastly, I really do want to go to the San Diego Zoo.
Outside of the US? I don’t know… I honestly don’t allow myself to dream that big. If I did, White Island (NZ) or New Calendonia.
Would love to go to Scotland and Hawaii.
Would love to go to Scotland and Hawaii.
I want to visit the British Isle.
And if you get the chance to go to the CN Tower 360 restaurant, do it. It is so amazing. I love Toronto. Of course, I was there for a hockey tournament with my son.
Canada and Alaska have always been on my bucket list and being from Australia that is hard to achieve. One day I will get there.
Scotland and Japan are the top destinations on my bucket list.
I love Vancouver. My son is named Van and they sell bottled water there that just says Van on the label. Ireland is in my bucket list!
I’ve been to Toronto (albeit in 1976, when I was in the 5th grade, for a class trip), and I would love to go back. And I’ve been to Windsor, because I live in Metro Detroit and they are right across the river. But I think my Canada bucket list visit would have to be in the Pacific Northwest – I really want to go to Vancouver!
Well damn. My comment didn’t get saved. UGH!
You will love Canada. It’s the place I’ve lived outside the US that I would live again if I had the chance. I was lucky enough to work there twice! Toronto and Vancouver are fantastic. Vancouver Island is one of my favorite places – Butchart Gardens and Victoria are so beautiful. I’ve been many places, but have LOADS more on the bucket list: Angkor Wat, Ha Long Bay, Petra, Giza, Kruger game reserve, Mauritius, Madagascar, Seychelles, Goa, Spain,, Portugal, Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand, Maldives, Iceland, Ireland, Scotland, Alaska, Patagonia, Galapagos, Machu Picchu, Cost Rica, etc. etc. etc. I will need to live a long time and save a lot of money to do all that 😉
Greece. Especially the Greek cats LOL
Enjoyed many of your books since discovering you last year. I’m retired now and my health such that I cannot travel anymore but if I could there are three places I would love to see. Calgary, Canada; York, England and Belfast, Ireland.
Always wanted to see Vancouver and Calgary.
Went to college 40 miles from Montreal, so I saw a Lot of it? . Have also been to Niagara, Toronto, and Vancouver.
Bucket list right end includes driving around the middle of England and Scotland.
Spent 4 weeks a few years ago driving around southern England and parts of Wales — 4 weeks, 10 towns/cities
?
I’d love to visit Australia, England, and Ireland someday. I hope you enjoy your vacation!
San Antonio, Texas. My daddy was stationed there when he was in the Air Force.
I’ve never been to Canada but I’d love to visit there and gorge on food there, especially poutine. 😀
I have always wanted to go to Japan. To Tokyo, to be sure, but also to Kobe, which is sister city to Seattle where I lived for several years. I envy you your trip to Canada. I have been to Victoria and Vancouver several times and I know you will enjoy your time there.
Australia is on my bucket list.
My dream vacation is to Ireland!
I would love to go to Alaska and do a whale watching tour.
Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and other countries of Central Asia. I once flew to London from Delhi with a stopover at Tashkent. I’m an Indian and I was amazed to see and experience the similarities between Uzbekistan and and India – of course, I shouldn’t have been because the Mughals who ruled India for centuries were originally from this part of the world. But I loved it and I want to explore more of it than I could on my stopover.
Also, the flight from Delhi to Tashkent was stunning. We flew low over the cruel peaks of the Karakoram mountains, the Pamir Knot and everything I had read about in my geography texts at school was gloriously alive. And immediately after the mountains came the Steppes, so flat that I could see individual pebbles. It is one of my best memories and I will definitely go there some day.
I would love to do a UK trip. I’ve read so many books of the years that take place in England, Wales and Scotland and I’d love to see the places I’ve only read about. I’d also like to visit Ireland my dad’s side of the family is from there. Now I just need to win the lottery. ?
The list is endles, butt in Canada I’d like to see Prince Edward Island. I love Anne of Avonlea books.
The only time I’ve been to Canada is when I went to Niagra Falls. I liked the Canadian side more than the American side. There are so many places I’d like to explore.I hope to go to Costa Rica next year.
Ever since I read A Town like Alice i’ve wanted to visit Alice Springs in Australia and Tasmania makes my list too.
I was born and raised in Montana, but moved to Italy almost 4 decades ago (yeah, I’m that old). I’ve been across the US, almost to the Canadian border, and over a lot of Europe, so I pretty much don’t have a bucket list for travel. I missed that you were in Rome!! We live about an hour and a half to the south! Could’ve dropped in! Oh well! Glad you had fun.
We’re the exact opposite! I am from Canada and wish to visit the UK eventually 🙂 I hope you’ll like your Hockey game and our pretty forests!
On my list of places to visit are Hawaii, Canada, and the Bahamas. I have crossed off quite a few of the rest of my must see destinations so these are next up on my list.
I’ve always wanted to go to Finland…. something about that country really appeals to me. I hope I will be able to go one day
I’ve been to Montreal, but never really done any sight-seeing in Canada (my mother has friends in the area that we would visit in the summers).
I’ve traveled to Europe though, and around the US. Never made it out to the Grand Canyon though, or the redwoods national park. I’d really love to see them!
Top of my bucket list is to go to Finland and stay in a thermal glass igloo at Hotel Kakslauttanen and (hopefully) see an amazing display of the Northern Lights.
Scottland
New Orleans is on my bucket list! Excited to say I am finally going in January. Can’t wait.
I’d like to see Niagara falls! I’ve been twice to Vancouver and loved it! Would love to go again and see ore of it! And New Zealand is on my bucket list. Probably won’t be able to, ever! 🙁
