This is a new book – only out in 2019, and it was possibly one of the hardest trilogies I have ever written. Dark in tone, there is still a love story… but also some spooky bits
What Lies Beneath
In the hottest summer on record, Iron Lake reservoir is emptying, revealing secrets that were intended to stay hidden beneath the water. The tragic story of a missing man is a media sensation, and abruptly the writer and the cop falling in love is just a postscript to horrors neither could have imagined.
Best Selling Horror writer Chris Lassiter struggles for inspiration and he’s close to never writing again. His life has become an endless loop of nothing but empty pages, personal appearances, and a marketing machine that is systematically destroying his muse. In a desperate attempt to force Chris to complete unfinished manuscripts his agent buys a remote cabin. All Chris has to do is hide away and write, but he’s lost his muse, and not even he can make stories appear from thin air.
Sawyer Wiseman left town for Chicago, chasing the excitement and potential of being a big city cop, rising the ranks, and making his mark. A case gone horribly wrong draws him back to Lancaster Falls. Working for the tiny police department in the town he’d been running from, digging into cold cases and police corruption, he spends his day's healing, and his nights hoping the nightmares of his last case leave him alone.

When long-buried secrets are exposed, and the search for truth becomes a race to save a life, how can two men ever hope to find real love?
Losing his brother has shaped Drew into the man he is today—heartbroken, alone, but determined to make a difference in the world. Joining the military, fighting battles in places he’s never even heard of, is his attempt to make sense of his life. After his brother disappeared, he’d imagined him dead, but part of him clung to the hope Casey was out there living his life.
One call changes everything. Casey’s body has been found, and the hope that had fueled Drew’s constant search for the truth is destroyed. Coming home to Lancaster Falls to bury his brother and face his mom’s anguish is a nightmare made real, and he has nowhere to run from the pain.
Logan has made a home in Lancaster Falls. As a police officer, he plays by the rules, and he would never think of working off-the-grid. All that changes when Drew McGuire heads into town, slams into his life, and they are thrust headlong into solving a murder. Fighting an attraction to Casey’s brother is hard enough, but the infuriating man is there at Logan’s every turn, interfering with the case, breaking the rules, and demanding that Casey’s story be heard.

All That Remains
Federal Agent Lucas Beaumont has an agenda—get himself assigned to the case of the apparent serial murders at Lancaster Falls, find out who the murderer is, and then lay the ghosts that haunt his grandfather to rest. In the midst of a horrific murder investigation, the only peace he gets is from simple moments in a warm kitchen, talking to hotel owner, Josh. Attraction to the easygoing man is something he didn’t expect; in doing so, he opens himself to hurt, but at the same time, he begins to fall in love.
Josh is struggling to keep the Falls Hotel, even with every cent he has invested in its upkeep. The one thing keeping him above water is the not entirely legal work he does on the side—a steady income that not even his son knows about. When the FBI takes over his hotel for the duration of the Hell’s Gate serial killer case, Josh is faced with the real possibility that Lucas will not only discover his secret but also steal his heart.
When tragedy hits Josh and his son, and when it seems all hope is lost, can Lucas rescue them both?

Without a Trace (Lancaster Falls 2)
When long-buried secrets are exposed, and the search for truth becomes a race to save a life, how can two men ever hope to find real love?
Losing his brother has shaped Drew to become the man he is today—heartbroken, alone, but determined to make a difference in the world. Joining the military, fighting battles in places that he’s never even heard of, is his attempt to make amends for telling his brother to go to hell. After his brother disappeared, he’d clung to the hope Casey was out there living his life. Of course, he’d be furious at Drew, and probably hate his brother, but at least in Drew’s head, Casey was safe.
One call changes everything. Casey’s body has been found, and the hope that had fueled Drew’s constant search for the truth is destroyed. Coming home to Lancaster Falls to bury his brother and face his mom’s anguish and accusations, is a nightmare made real, and he has nowhere to run from the pain.
Logan has made a home in Lancaster Falls. As a police officer, he plays by the rules, and he would never think of working off-the-grid. All that changes when an anonymous tip crosses his desk, and he is thrust headlong into solving a hundred-year mystery that could be connected with the modern day death of Casey McGuire. Fighting an attraction to Casey’s brother is hard enough, but the infuriating man is there at Logan’s every turn, interfering with the case, breaking the rules, and demanding that Casey’s story be heard.

I love this series!!
Small towns always seem to have the biggest secrets…….
I haven’t read this series but it’s on my TBbR
I love this trilogy. I think it might represent the best writing of yours that I have read. Great story structure, great character writing and more than just a romance. Perfect.
This series is amazing!
I would guess that All That Remains would be #1.
Loved this trio… It was hard to wait for the next book to find out what would happen.. Definitely 10 plus stars
I love reading about two men in love 💗💕💗
This is on my tbr list!
On my to read list, can’t wait! I think Crooked Tree Ranch is going to be #1.
I love MM mysteries! Hope to get all three books!
I love the Lancaster Falls trilogy, and the audios narrated by Sean Crisden are fabulous.
As far as guessing what’s #1 on the list, I’ll say “The Heart of Texas.” 💗
These are on my TBR!
Of solo RJ books, my favorite is the Texas series.
Loved this series! 😊Xx
All That Remains for #1
This one got my attention.
My guess for #1 is the Harrisburg Railers series.
I think my guess is Crooked Ree Ranch
Heart of Texas is my guess for #1
I love this series. So amazing. For my guess at #1? I’m horrible at this. I’d say one of the Harrisburg Railers books.
I love the serie.
Just what I need right now!
Well I want to guess it as The Gardner and the Marine as that is my favorite but I’m sure that isn’t it because it isn’t published so I’ll have to say Cupcakes and Christmas because it was lots of fun.
I loved this book, but I’m pretty partial to Coast to Coast. I’m absolutely addicted to my weekly Gardner & Marine, though, so it’s getting harder to choose.
I loved this series so much. If your talking about what book will hit number 1 in 2021 I think Valentine’s Hearts and Always. I know Valentine’s Hearts is awesome and without even reading Always I know it’s going to be good. So fingers crossed that they both go number 1
I’d have to say All that Remains for #1! Sooo good!
I would hope that one of the Single Dads books is at the top, but realistically, I would guess that it’s probably one of the Harrisburg Railers books. 😉
Haven’t read this series yet but it’s on my short list!
Small towns can be dangerous!
My guess for #1 book would be The Heart of Texas! I love all your books!
I love a book that has angst and this has it. As hard as this series may have been to write, it was well done. Great job RJ!
I love all your books and the only way I want others in your newsletter is if you write with them. Most authors have their own letter to spread.
Railers!
I really enjoyed this series.
Sanctuary & Ellery Mountain are my favorite series!
I enjoyed this series. It was a little more intense. Ellery Mountain is probably my favorite series. But Winter Cowboy is a great book.
On my the list
I love this series so much I just got it on audio too.
One of my favorite series by you
This series fulfilled every need I have as reader…romance for my heart, suspense for my nerves, and a satisfying solution to a wonderful mystery. The characters will embed themselves into your heart and I found myself eagerly awaiting each subsequent publications as I worked my way through the series. I was torn between reading faster, so I found out what happened next, and dragging out the experience.
RJ can’t write faster to keep me satisfied!
No idea; you have too many to choose from.
I agree with Linda. I have yet to be able to put one of your books down once I start to read it.
Heart of Texas is my guess for #1
Ooh more books for my TBR!
Heart of Texas, that’s my guess for number 1… as for this series, I so love the covers!
What lies beneath is #1…in the series, but I don’t think that’s what you’re asking. These are on my tbr pile so im not sure which 1 I’d choose to be #1.
This is the series that turned me into an RJ Scott Superfan. Loved it!!!!!
I would have voted for this one as my favorite, but since that’s obviously not it… I’ll go with my second favorite – Texas series
This series sounds good, loved the heart of texas series and hope the Montana series does good too
I think Changing Lines is your best-selling book.
I think Harrisburg Railers get #1
I have book 1 ready to read and I’m looking forward to starting it next.
I’m torn between Crooked Tree Ranch and Heart of Texas, but I’d bet #1 would be Heart of Texas
My guess is Heart of Texas for #1
Loved this series! Looked forward to each new release so I could go back and reread the older first….
This is a wonderful series.
If we’re talking my favorite standalone book ever, it’s The Christmas Throwaway. I reread it often throughout the year, but especially at Christmas when I need a gentle, feel good story. I adore these series: Salisbury Stories series (both books); Bodyguards, Inc. series (Max and the Prince); Sanctuary Foundation series (Face Value); and Ellery Mountain series (The Fireman and the Cop). If we include collaborations, I love her End Street series (End Street vol. 1) with Amber Kell.
I think The Railers!
The Lancaster Series was a great read and I loved Crooked Tree Ranch!
Tough choice between Heart of Texas book 1 and Harrisburg Railers book 1. Love both series. Seriously, I have liked or loved every book of yours that I have read. I go back and re-read them every couple of years. Thank you for all your hard work, I’ve truly enjoyed it.
What lies beneth should be #1
Loved this series but Heart of Texas will always be my favorite. It was my first mm read and converted me for life!
I love all your writing and am waiting for the the next Single Dad book ( I do understand why it was delayed).
I think the Heart of Texas series would be #1, although the Single Dads series is my favorite!
Good books!
I think Changing Lines will be number one. It’s the start of my favorite series and I love Stan!
I’ve listened to many of your books because the stories are great and most are narrated by one of my favorites, Sean Crisden. But somehow I’ve missed this series, so it’s now in my Audible wishlist.
I really liked all three in this serie but Winter Cowboy is also good.
Texas series is the one I think is first. But I love all of them.
I love this series!
I have read many of yours and this one is on my TBR list. In fact, it is downloaded and getting close to the top.
My guess for #1 would be Heart of Texas.
I guess The Heart of Texas is #1
my guess for #1 is Single
My all time fave of yours is The Christmas Throwaway followed by The Summer House
Love this series.
My Fav and Personal #1 will always be The Christmas Throwaway. It’s a soft light hearted wonderful read.
I personally thing the Christmas Throwaway will be number one, but I loved my intro into the Sanctuary series of Guarding Morgan.
I love the Lancaster falls series, the audio version is especially sublime. I just finished Valentine’s Hearts. O. M. G. It’s good!
