Day 24 - Sean Michaels
Along with Halloween, Christmas is my favorite holiday. There’s so much to love about it. I love the whole lead up to it, choosing gifts for people, wrapping them, decorating the house, the outside, going for drives to see all the lights decorating other people’s houses. Baking cookies and planning the Christmas dinner menus. It all makes me happy. Also, I’m a fan of snow – so a white Christmas gets bonus points from me!
Destination Wedding
Two years ago Royal walked in on his husband Bobby in bed with another man, leaving him a single dad with a three year old boy and a baby girl, who he loves with all his heart. Now his ex and the other man are getting married and they want the kids in the wedding.
Logan received divorce papers when his husband Rick cheated on him, leaving him with a four year old son and another child on the way. He resents having to let his ex have his son every second weekend, but is happy he doesn't have to share his little girl.
When Royal gets to his room at the destination wedding resort, he meets Logan and the two men get along like a house on fire, commiserating over the fact that their exes cheated with each other, are getting married, and that they want the kids to be a part of the ceremony.
Commiseration becomes friendship, and the kids all consider each other siblings. Can Royal and Logan find more than friendship with each other?

Competition Question
What is your favorite vacation destination?
Closes 28 December 7am London

Southern CA. So I can have some of the best albacore sushi at Oishi in Canoga Park, CA.
I like a destination that has a good bookstore, art galleries, cute shops, lovely views, and an ice cream shop.
Happy holidays all!
Those are all good things imo
yum, sushi!
We like to be home at Christmas. We tried Christmas in Mexico but it just want the same.
Oh, I can see how it might have been nice, but feeling like Christmas at all.
Home. One year my husband won a trip to Las Vegas at Christmas. It was the weirdest experience I’ve ever had!
I can only imagine….
I like San Francisco, but would love to see Canada or Japan!
As a canadian, I can highly recomment Canada!
melbourne australia
I spent some time in Australia post university and I loved it
South Korea
I’ve never been – I think it would be facinating.
My family and I like to just stay home. We used to go to my grandparents house, but that was really stressful. The holidays have enough stress that it became easier and more enjoyable to stay home.
Yeah, I know what you mean.
Mackinac Island, Michigan. No cars allowed and beautiful scenery!
the no cars allowed thing is super nice!
At this point I miss traveling and wouldn’t be too picky—anywhere in Europe.
Staying home for Christmas.
always a good option – especially with the pandemic….
I hear you
No where I hate traveling and staying in hotels. Might visit relatives once in a while but that’s it.
it’s not for everyone
Australia, hopefully…
I loved it there
Palm Springs.
nice and warm 🙂
Hawaii.
it looks so beautiful
Oahu is my favorite vacation destination so far. Still hoping to get to Florence, Italy though.
Both sound awesome.
Holiday destinations – would love to go somewhere hot and sandy, Maldives, Carribbean. Fave place to return to – Swiss Alps in winter
all three sound lovely!
The Outer Banks in North Carolina. Gorgeous!
cool!
Norway, such a beautiful country.
I’ve been to Denmark but none of the other scandinavian countries. I’d love to go.
Prefer to be at home but went to Rome with my now husband the first Xmas we celebrated together.
I would think Rome would be really neat at Christmas.
Don’t really travel but I’ve always wanted to go to Japan or Italy.
neat – and two very different options
I would love to go back to Thailand or Hawaii
Cool! (or should I say hot?)
Jamaica or visiting the grandkids.
very nice 🙂
So far it’s the american west. Our Ireland trip got covid canceled so I’m hopeful it jumps to the top of my list
oh that’s too bad about it getting cancelled
I really liked Manitoulin Island
cool 🙂
The Oregon Coast, and really, and trip where there’s beautiful scenery, historical sites, and/or quirky roadside attractions to see.
the world really does have some beautiful scenery, doesn’t it?
Door County, Wisconsin
cool 🙂
My favorite spot is the beach with white sand, crystal blue water and the soothing sounds of the water waves crashing the shore while I am relaxing in the sun and drinking a coconut pina colada. Cheers!!!
the ocean makes me happy so I totally get this
Usually we spend it at home or with family. I could go for a tropical island for Christmas but we usually just stick with family
cool 🙂
Growing up, my dad took us 4 or 5 times backpacking up a particular local mountain. We always hiked up 1 side of it, but the opposite side has a aerial tram on it. We used to go up that sometimes during the winter to see the snow. My parents liked it because we could get to deep snow without driving in it at all. There are trails on the other 2 side of the mountain, too. I always thought it would be fun to hike them. too. Then I could say I’ve been up all 4 side of this mountain.
how neat! That’s a great (and unique) tradition!
I have many, but I spent a summer break in Hawaii a few years ago, and I just fell in love with the different islands (excluding Honolulu – I prefer nature and small towns). I’ll have to go back once traveling is again possible.
Hawaii looks so very beautiful
I don’t really travel much, but I think Ireland might be neat to see, at least once. Otherwise, anywhere that most people would speak English, so I wouldn’t need a translator!
good thinking on not needing a translator!
a cruise to anywhere
I’d love to do a cruise – especially the Alaskan one
Canary Islands
nice and warm 🙂
Kauai
beautiful
Montana de Oro State Beach and surrounding areas in California. I live in rainy Washington state, so it’s always lovely to visit my old (warm and dry) stomping grounds.
I love beaches because I love the ocean, warm or cold, just give me a beach with the waves hitting the sand
I have a few, from childhood is South Padre Island, TX
nice!
My family used to love going to Henlopen State Park in Delaware. We would camp and it had a private beach that was in an inlet, but we could ocean kayak just down from where there was swimming. It was only a ferry ride from Cape May, NJ when we wanted to be touristy and do the shopping thing and go get pizza or an ice cream.
oh that’s really neat – the best of both worlds
I don’t go on vacation. I love where I live on the BC coast though.
BC looks so beautiful
Anywhere that has The beach. I love the sounds of the waves breaking as you relax and enjoy the view of the water.
I’m exactly the same when it comes to the beach/ocean
Normally, my normal favorite vacation spots would be mountains with that wonderful pine scent all over. 🙂 However, I’m thinking the peaks in Hawaii would be beautiful at Christmas! I’ve never been there, but, it sounds wonderful.
both options sound lovely
I want to go back to Las Vegas, but more generally, I like both the beach and the mountains.
Las Vegas is a fun experience – but I love the beach and mountains too
Disneyland Paris⭐⭐
tres bon!
Anywhere would be good right now but I’ll say Spain.
we’ve been kind of stuck at home, eh?
My house
heee! safest place you can be, especially right now
I love to go to Las Vegas a few times every year.
nice – I had a great time in Las Vegas
San Francisco, no doubt. The food, the culture, the sights, the ocean air. The ability to get around without a car. Just love it!
oh very cool 🙂
Haven’t done vacations in years. Would love to be able to travel and visit some National Parks.
sounds good
I want to go back to Alaska one day but i also want to travel to the UK so I can meet my favorite British authors.
both sound great – I love winter so Alaska seems like a great destination
I have never been able to afford real vacations so I visit family in south Georgia about 2 hours from Atlanta where I live. We also drive to Destin, Florida where some family live. I would love to go back to Hawaii where we lived when my kids were little now that they are grown and show them where they once lived.
it’s so neat being able to go back and show the kids things from when they were younger – see what they remember and what they think now with adult eyes
Isle of Skye, or really anywhere in Scotland.
very nice – I’d love to visit there too
Wherever my friends and /or family are 😉
good deal
Hawaii
beautiful choice
Put me somewhere in the Luberon. Peaceful, calm, beautiful. Great wines and food.
nice 🙂
Anywhere warm.
cool (or should I say warm?)
Any where that is not a bustling city like the one I live in….
The city I live in never sleeps.
there’s something wonderful about the quiet of not being in a city, eh?
Paris, France
Went there 1 year after high school graduation for 2 weeks, including an overnight train to Cannes for 2 days: Super exciting for a young guy, especially having my movie camera recording the descent from the fourth level (unknown to most tourists) of the Eiffel Tower! Then, in Germany in the army, tour-guided a bunch of soldiers for a weekend: Our group got to see more of the city than the other groups because I knew what they’d like to see and maneuvered around with ease. Great time and some great memories.
that sounds awesome!
Nova Scotia (Canada) is lovely!
I was actually born there (left when I was only six months old, but I’ve been back a few times and love it)
Disney world!!!
the mouse!
Australia, some day
I loved my time there and would love to go back
So far it’s been Phoenix. Makes for a good Christmas away from the snow and cold.
nice 🙂 (I’d miss the snow at Christmas 😉 )
Hawaii…hands down. Christmas on the beach in paradise. Of course, Australia would also be nice for the same reason…
nods – warm beach, crashing waves
Greer, AZ
cool
New York City
the city that never sleeps! so much to do/see there
Coastecomatillo Nayarit, Mexico. It’s close to many beaches and the mountains are beautiful there
sounds lovely!
´m boring, so just a cabin in the woods.
Just for a vacation then I want to go to Japan
I can see the appeal of a cabin in the woods – very peaceful
A snowed in cabin with a huge log fire and blankets o read books under and drink hot chocolate lol. Or a cruise to see the Northern Lights
both of those sound lovely!
Close by – St. Augustine, FL. My favorite overseas is Chaing Mia, Thailand – people are friendly, mountains are beautiful, fun foods and things to see. I really enjoyed my trip to Alaska where my son and his family live. One summer visit with lots of walking and sight seeing. And last Christmas where I got my very first white Christmas.
I love a white christmas (but then I live somewhere where it almost always is)
I haven’t really been anywhere. If I had a once in a lifetime thing, probably a trip around the world. Honestly though, I’m more of a homebody so vacations aren’t high on my list of wants.
a trip around the world would let you see everything!
anywhere warmer than Winnipeg!!
that leaves pretty much everywhere, no? *grins* II gets pretty cold here in Ottawa too.
New zealand
I have been and so very much want to go back
Somewhere warm and sunny preferably on the ocean with mountains.
sounds lovely
Luquillo, Puerto Rico. I’d love to take a nap under one of the many palm trees that surround all the beaches on that little island.
that sounds beautiful and peaceful
Home 🙂
heee – nothing wrong with that
Europe, mainly England and Ireland
nice 🙂
