Day 15 - Avery Cockburn
I’m so thrilled to be part of RJ’s Advent Calendar this year. It’s such a fun tradition for everyone!
Last Christmas, I decided to create a gingerbread house from scratch, just like the main characters in my 2020 novel, Must Love Christmas. Until I wrote the book, I had no idea how many steps were involved (Hallmark movies are very misleading #UnderstatementOfTheSeason). I started with a beginners’ recipe, and over the course of several days and nights I made the dough, cut the dough, baked the dough, assembled the house, and finally—deep breath—I decorated it. The adorable result can be seen on my Instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/p/CJZXFEdAeRY/
I’m so glad I made this cute little house—and I was sad to say goodbye to it in June, LOL—but after all was said and done, decorating it was by far the most fun part. So I think this year I might just get myself a kit. 😉
I’ve written a brand-new holiday short story called All Through the House. It’s the long-awaited “happier ever after” followup for the first Glasgow Lads couple, Duncan and Brodie from Play On. All Through the House is the most crossover-y crossover yet between the main series and the Glasgow Lads on Ice spinoff series. It can also be read as a stand-alone holiday treat!
All Through the House is only 0.99 through 31 December: https://geni.us/AllThroughTheHouse
SALE – Must Love Christmas
Must Love Christmas is on sale through 31 December for 2.99 in nearly all markets worldwide (3.99 in Australia): https://geni.us/MustLoveChristmas
Garen McLaren is a bit of a mess. But so what? His curling teammates adore his manic energy, and so do the kids he teaches. And nobody does Christmas like Garen. (Snow globes in October? Why not?) He’s vowed to make this year’s holiday the best ever, despite his hot but Scrooge-y new flatmate.
Simon Andreou is a bit of a control freak. The pressures of a new job in a new city are making his head spin. The last thing he needs is an agent of chaos like Garen for a flatmate—much less the memory of their single naked night together.
Just as this odd couple are fumbling toward friendship, a debilitating setback steals Simon’s precious control over life and limb. To be there for Simon, Garen must learn to stop running away when things get tough. And Simon must learn that accepting kindness can be a gift in itself—at Christmas and all year through.
This holiday season, treat yourself to this heartwarming stand-alone novel where love defies fear and gingerbread defies gravity!
For a free ebook of your choice from my backlist, tell me about a holiday project you’ve undertaken—food, decoration, a gift you’ve created or assembled yourself, anything that was a labor of love or fun. Contest closes December 20.
Thanks to RJ for having me, and thanks to all of you for taking part. Can’t wait to see who’s behind Door #16 tomorrow!
