I’m all about Autumn. There is nothing like the scent and colors of a beautiful autumn day. The nights drawing in, the scent of bonfires, the lure of Christmas. Second on my list is Spring, I love teh Spring, fresh cool mornings, and the feeling of hope in a new season. Then Winter. Oh my, I loveWinter. Snow, cold, Christmas, dark nights, short days. Love it, all wrapped up inside watching the snow outside the window. Bliss.
Then there is summer.
The thing I love about Summer is the evenings when it’s warm enough to sit outside in the dark and stare up at the stars, and chat, and maybe drink a glass of wine. I love salads, and lakes, and the fact that England is so green. I don’t like heat. Never have done, and I think I was emotionally scarred by the Summer of 76. LOL. I do however, love it when it rains in the summer.
Anyway, we’re in the middle of a 30 degree heatwave here and I don’t like it. Not one bit.
The theme of seasons runs through a lot of my books. Texas Winter, Texas Fall, Winter Cowboy. Seth and Casey is set in a snow storm, Alpha Delta is set in a storm at sea on an oil rig. Back Home is set against a Vermont Fall, The Gallows Tree is set against an English Fall…
